Romy, Atlas, and the members of Knot 27 came to me on a bus trip from Derry to Dublin three years ago. They waited for their turn on the page (some of the characters far more patiently than others), and when Fantasy of Freedom was finished, I immediately began writing Romy’s tale.
Romy was different to the main characters I’d written previously. She swore far less, was generally much nicer, and always put other’s needs above her own (often allowing others to take advantage of her good nature). Understanding her took time, but one day I came to realize that Romy’s power lay in the fact that nothing mattered to her but the well being of her loved ones, everything else she could let go of. Which is why, although most of my other characters can physically kick butt, I perceive Romy to be equally as strong.
Finishing a series is always a bittersweet moment for me, almost like a goodbye. The two years spent penning these characters has been a joy, always a laugh, sometimes a shock, and I’d be lying if I said there weren’t a few tears here and there when the plot took an unexpected twist.
I’d like to thank my readers for your messages and excitement over the series (your discussions about Houston, in particular), my manuscript team for their steadfast attention to detail, and my husband for being a constant support.
I hope you enjoy book three in The After Trilogy….
Happy Reading,
Kelly St Clare

The final book in the action-packed dystopian series, The After Trilogy, is here.
Earth is nothing like Romy expected. A disappointing fact made clear far too many times.
Over the last year and a half, her world has shattered again and again, along with her sanity, and now Knot 27 is split in two with no sign of reconciliation.
There is no end in sight.
When the leader of their rebel movement steps down, the man Romy loves takes over the role of commander-general.
They are outnumbered. They are outgunned.
Not only are the Mandate Members as deprived of humanity as ever, another lethal player has taken the field.
All it takes is a click of a button, and everyone she loves will die.
